As a physician owner
of a dialysis center, you want to feel assured that
successful financial performance is balanced with
high quality patient care. With a proven track record,
consistent growth, and expert managerial skills,
Innovative Dialysis offers nephrologists that assurance.
The foundation of our business is partnering with
nephrologists in the development and operation of
dialysis centers. |
|
 |
 |
“
|
We believe that nephrologists should be in control. That is why our nephrologists have ownership and a significant voice in the operation of their dialysis center. ” |
|
 |
 |
We have established
a network of independent dialysis centers that are
individually controlled,
yet have the shared resources and management expertise
that otherwise could only be found in large chains.
We answer
to our physician partners & their patients. |
|
 |
 |
Our role is to design
and implement the business plan and directives of
the owners. On a day to day basis we handle administrative,
business, and regulatory issues in running the facility.
We take care of business so that nephrologists can
focus on patient care. |
|
 |
 |
We enable nephrologists
to:
• Gain clinical & operational
control of their dialysis program • Participate
in the financial performance of the dialysis program
• Joint Venture with a partner with a proven
track record |
|
 |
 |
Each clinic enjoys
the autonomy of being an independent operation,
yet reaps the benefits of shared knowledge and experience,
providing collective buying power comparable to
that of the large chain providers. |
|
 |
 |
“
|
Our approach is both innovative and refreshing; we believe physicians should have the controlling interest in all dialysis facility operations." |
|
 |
The nephrologists & principals
of IDS will form a local company for the purpose
of owning and operating the dialysis center.
The nephrologists will be the owners and will have a voice in the operations of the company.
The company will contract with
the nephrologists to serve as medical director.
The company will contract with
IDS to provide comprehensive management services.
Each venture is a separate entity
from the others in the IDS family. Financial information,
banking, payroll, etc. are all maintained separately
for each venture.
We generally set up our ventures
as Limited Liability Companies (LLC).
Each LLC is controlled by the owners and we take our direction from
these owners.
Although each entity maintains
its autonomy, due to its affiliation with a large
entity like IDS, it has access to shared resources
and purchasing power.

Physician's Experience |
ALLEN S. WARNER MD
WEST COAST DIALYSIS CENTER, Inc.
3780 Kilroy Airport Way #110
Long Beach, California 90806
Dear Colleague,
I once believed a physician’s ownership of
a dialysis center entangled him in a personal conflict
between patient advocacy and business responsibility,
and maintenance of integrity required a physician
to leave the ownership and financial risk/reward
to others. For nearly a decade I supported a dialysis
facility in Long Beach, California as medical director
and primary nephrologist. This facility grew in
size and became the major referral center in the
community. As it grew, I became less influential
in the financial decisions and the facility’s
physical plant and equipment waned.
I was approached by Innovative Dialysis Systems (IDS) to join three other local nephrologists
in the development of a new facility in which we
would share ownership. We developed a modern 21
station hemodialysis facility and peritoneal center
in a new professional building. IDS managed the
entire development process. Our center has been
a remarkable success. Patient response was immediate
and positive. We have an open and inviting environment,
a well-trained and caring staff, and the physicians
are involved in all aspects of care. On-going administrative
support and management has been comprehensive and
unobtrusive.
A physician can remain a patient advocate, demand
a state of the art facility, and still enjoy the
financial rewards of a well-run dialysis center.
As my medical practice becomes increasingly challenged
by the demands of managed care, contracting, and
the specter of global capitation; it is comforting
to know there is a secondary income source secure
and well managed by IDS.
Sincerely,
Allen S. Warner MD
Medical Director |
