Innovative Dialysis Systems Uses Corepoint Integration Engine to Integrate Acquired Facilities and Improve Patient Care

Wednesday, April 11, 2012 6:44:18 AM

Frisco, Texas – April 11, 2012 –Corepoint Health announced today that Innovative Dialysis Systems and its parent company Ambulatory Services of America, Inc., have used Corepoint Integration Engine to implement 11 complex healthcare IT interfaces during the first quarter of 2012.  Using the Corepoint Integration Engine, Innovative Dialysis was able to integrate 17 newly acquired dialysis centers seamlessly.  Innovative Dialysis is headquartered in Long Beach, California and Ambulatory Services of America is headquartered in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Hal Porter, Vice President of Information Technology at ASA, said “a key reason we chose to partner with Corepoint Health was due to Corepoint’s reputation for solid customer service and their ability to help us build healthcare interfaces quickly and productively.”

Porter highlighted the advantages of Corepoint’s Integration Engine in assisting Innovative Dialysis and ASA in integrating the recent acquisition of Renal CarePartners, Inc.  Porter said. “Because the Corepoint Integration Engine makes it easy to connect disparate systems and databases, we were able to seamlessly integrate the data from the 17 acquired facilities, each with a unique information system.  It would have been much more difficult and taken much longer without Corepoint Health.”

“Since installing Corepoint Integration Engine, Innovative Dialysis’ clinical staff works more efficiently, so that staff members can spend more quality time with patients,” Porter said.  Prior to partnering with Corepoint Health, the same patient data had to be entered into three to four different databases. Now, Innovative has one central point of patient registration, and that information is distributed to all associated databases through interfaces built and maintained using the Corepoint Integration Engine.

“Our plan is that the Corepoint Integration Engine will become the central nervous system for everything we do, so we will have more control over the data.  Now we can translate the data and make different systems work better together,” Porter said.

Because every healthcare provider is unique, Corepoint Health CEO Phil Guy said it is important to truly understand each provider’s integration challenges, something that is only possible through open communication and a team approach.

“We are proud of the relationships we have built with our customers, which truly is a collaborative partnership created from frequent, candid conversations that allow us to understand each client’s unique needs. This team philosophy helps Corepoint Health thoroughly understand and address each customer question, suggestion, or initiative,” Guy said. “Knowing our customers, combined with our flexibility to consistently add new product features, are key factors that Corepoint Integration Engine has been named the number one interface engine in the Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Professional Services for the past three years.”

Ambulatory Services of America Streamlines Compliance Training with IntraLearn LearningServer and Microsoft SharePoint 2010

Monday, March 12, 2012 8:00:00 AM

Northboro, MA (PRWEB) February 15, 2012

In an initiative to move compliance training for more than 1,600 employees to eLearning, Ambulatory Services of America (ASA) has successfully implemented IntraLearn Software Corporation’s (ISC) LearningServer Learning Management System. This program replaces paper-based, often inconsistent, materials and tracking methods with a comprehensive administrative reporting tool and a set of learning content and testing modules that present standardized courses to all employees.

LearningServer is available through ASA’s Corporate Intranet, leveraging the power of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 on a platform that is available to all employees across the country. The initial phase of the project was rolled out to employees of ASA’s dialysis subsidiary, Innovative Dialysis Systems and has been well received by both employees and managers. LearningServer provides Innovative Dialysis with a standardized method of delivering required educational courses and materials to employees in its dialysis facilities. The program is an easy-to-use method for Innovative Dialysis staff to view required education materials and take tests to demonstrate knowledge of the information to meet CMS, OSHA requirements, as well as Innovative Dialysis’ own internal educational requirements. Completion of courses demonstrates compliance as mandated.

With LearningServer, managers no longer need to schedule hurried meetings on a Sunday or staff days off to present mandatory training materials. Paper tests, manual grading of tests and filing are eliminated by this new process. All records of staff viewing content and completing tests are stored in the program for at-a-glance viewing. Employees are relieved of the responsibility of having to attend an in-service on a day off.

“Staff morale has been improved thanks to the autonomy this program allows, giving employees the ability to access training materials at their convenience during work hours,” says Linda Earhart, Vice President of Administration of ASA. “Along with improvements in morale are cost savings realized through reducing overtime that was previously required for staff to attend mandatory training sessions. Each course can be completed in short blocks of time in the course of normal working hours without manager intervention.”

Friday, November 19, 2010 6:00:00 AM

Gallup, New Mexico (November 19, 2010) - Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services (RMCHCS) announced today that a long-term lease agreement has been signed with Red Rocks Dialysis, LLC (RRD) for a new location for the Red Rocks Dialysis Gallup Facility.  “We are very excited to see this new center coming to life,” said Karen Lautermilch, CEO of RMCHCS.  “Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of the whole community, patients will now have access to this beautiful new facility and the latest, most advanced hemodialysis services.”

The new, state-of-the-art dialysis center will be located at 725 Hospital Drive, in the Lidio G. Rainaldi Dialysis Building, named for the state Senator who was instrumental in securing funding for the new facility.

RMCHCS divested of its dialysis program in 2008 to Red Rocks Dialysis (whose parent company is Innovative Dialysis Systems, Inc.).  Since that time both parties have worked diligently to bring the new center to fruition.

“It’s taken a collaborative and concerted effort from everyone involved,” noted Dr. James Whitfield, Medical Director of Red Rocks Dialysis.  “It was a long process, but everyone worked with the patients’ and the community’s best interests in mind.  Through this new facility, we can now expand our services and provide a more accessible, convenient solution for patients with nephrology and dialysis needs.”

Currently, Red Rocks Dialysis Gallup provides hemodialysis services in an older facility located on Red Rock Drive.  The existing facility has 28 dialysis stations, while the new facility will have 37 stations.  This added capacity will greatly improve the access to dialysis care.

INNOVATIVE DIALYSIS SYSTEMS REVIEWS PROGRESS IN 2008

Friday, November 07, 2008 6:00:00 AM

Philadelphia, PA (November 7, 2008) - Innovative Dialysis Systems (IDS), and its parent company, Ambulatory Services of America, Inc. (ASA), reviewed the substantial progress they had made in developing their dialysis services business during 2008. In December 2007, ASA completed the acquisition of IDS and many of its related joint ventures, which owned and operated 35 dialysis programs in California, Ohio, Oregon, Wyoming and Guam.

"2008 has been a terrific year for IDS and ASA," said Vincent Dennis, M.D., ASA's Senior Medical Advisor, speaking at the annual conference of the American Society of Nephrology in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. "During this year of transition and in the face of implementing changes to comply with the new Medicare conditions of coverage, we have continued IDS' historic focus on providing high-quality care in partnership with local physicians, while the company experienced substantial growth. We are very pleased by the improvement in clinical outcomes of the patients receiving care in our centers," Dr. Dennis concluded.

At the time it acquired IDS, ASA owned and operated three dialysis clinics in San Antonio, Texas. During 2008, IDS has opened de novo facilities in Texas, Ohio and Guam, and it currently has several others under development. In addition, in June, IDS acquired three dialysis centers in St. Louis, Missouri, which were previously owned by Affiliated Hospital Dialysis Centers. As of November 1, 2008, IDS owned interests in and operated 44 dialysis centers. It also managed eight other dialysis centers, three of which it expects to acquire in the near future. IDS also provides inpatient acute dialysis services under contracts with four hospitals.

"This has been an exciting year for us," said Larry Jones, President and Chief Operating Officer of IDS. "We have built on the clinical and operating legacy of IDS to deliver great care for patients while managing growth. We are looking forward to continuing to build on this platform in the future as we continue our aggressive plans to develop de novo dialysis centers and to complete acquisitions with leading physicians."

IDS continues to drive growth for the ASA family. Along with ASA's other subsidiary, Radiation Oncology Services of America (ROSA), IDS has helped ASA grow to include 58 owned sites of service in 10 states and the territory of Guam.

Timothy Martin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ambulatory Services of America, said "With today's volatile market conditions, it has become more important than ever for physicians to choose their partners with great care. ASA's strong balance sheet, along with our demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, has proven to be attractive for nephrologists who are considering a joint venture partner. We are honored to partner with some of the leading physicians in the business, and we look forward to an even more successful 2009."

Nashville, Tennessee (December 18, 2007) - Ambulatory Services of America, Inc. (ASA) announced today that it has completed an acquisition of the assets of Innovative Dialysis Systems, Inc. (IDS) and interests in joint ventures that own and operate 35 dialysis programs in California, Ohio, Oregon, Wyoming and Guam. IDS, owned by Allen Fulmer and Jerry Green, has provided management services to the acquired dialysis programs prior to the transactions. In our partnership model, we have taken care of all day-to-day business operations, so our physician partners can directly control the care their patients receive at the facility. I look forward to our new partnership with all of the IDS physicians, and I believe collectively we will create a tremendous opportunity to continue to provide excellent patient care and build value for ASA and its physician partners.”
